Mother Teresa and Me

A poignant story of love and compassion inspired by the life of Mother Teresa.

Teresa and Kavita: two women’s lives – passionate and uncompromising – woven over generations by two intertwined stories. Both women achieve their vocation in spite of serious personal doubts.

We discover Mother Teresa as the woman behind the myth in a new dimension. Her loss of faith inspires the wild Kavita, a young British woman of Indian origin, to discover true love and compassion in today’s Kolkata.

The film won the “Best Film Award” at the Mirabile Dictu International Film Festival in Rome and was honored Runner Up at the 58th annual Gabriel Awards.

The official theatrical release took place in September 2022 in Switzerland, followed by numerous international releases.

The U.S. premiere took place on 5 September 2023 in New York at the headquarters of the United Nations, during the International Day of Charity, established by the United Nations to commemorate the anniversary of Mother Teresa of Calcutta’s passing. The theatrical release in the U.S. took place on October 5, 2023, across 800 cinemas. On this one-day-only release, our film ranked fifth in box office gross and achieved the highest per-screen average audience. The film is now in cinemas in over 20 countries.
